The casks came from the historic Strathclyde Grain Distillery in Glasgow, whose softer, silkier oak influence suits a big, rich stout.\n\nThe brewery describes a layered beer with dark chocolate and roasted coffee, hints of dried red fruit and molasses, a velvety body and subtle notes of oak, cherry and coconut. The finish is long, like dark chocolate with a hint of malted milk.
