THE STORY

Since establishing himself at Mount Hurtle winery in 1985 Geoff Merrill has achieved significant success at home and

internationally. His elegant, subtle wines have culminated in major trophy wins including the coveted Jimmy Watson and

The Wine Society Trophy. Geoff’s commitment to releasing wines to be enjoyed at the table has never wavered.

THE WINE

“Approximately 4 months after vintage, Geoff and Scott undergo a blind tasting to select the finest barrels from our

Coonawarra and McLaren Vale vineyards that make the grade for our Reserve Chardonnay. These barrels are blended

together then returned to new French oak hogsheads for additional maturation prior to bottling.” - Geoff Merrill

WINEMAKERS NOTES

A terrific greenish / yellow straw colour. A captivating aroma where each look reveals more.

There's lime, mango, orange blossom and ripe apple notes, with fresh cucumber and melon skin

characters. The oak is subtly and nutty, perfectly harmonising with the intense fruit.

A delicious palate that's full of flavour, with mid palate weight and depth, and a zesty piquant

acidity on the finish. Characters range from nectarine through mandarin and grapefruit, some

Greek yoghurt and cashew oak flavours and textures finishing on a cleansing orange pith note.

FOOD PAIRING

Enjoy with Frenched Saltbush Lamb Cutlets, Greek Salad, Seafood Risotto, Roast Pork, Grilled

Salmon with Lemon and Butter and Brie or Camembert.
