Birth Year Gifts: Vintage Bottles by Year
A vintage Armagnac is one of the few gifts you can buy that was genuinely made in the year somebody was born. Not blended, not an average of several harvests: distilled from a single year's grapes and left in barrel ever since.
The years below all have bottles available today. Most are Bas-Armagnac, with Calvados, Cognac and the occasional vintage whisky alongside.

Choosing one
Older is not automatically better. A 1990s Armagnac at cask strength often has more life in it than something from the 1960s that has spent sixty years quietly softening. If you want a recommendation for a particular year and budget, ask us.
Once a vintage cask is bottled and sold, that year is finished. If the year you want is not listed, email orders@liquorwinecave.com.au with the year and we will tell you honestly whether we can find it. We will endeavour to get back to you within 3 business days.
