As winter comes to Tasmania and the days grow shorter, we relish the longer nights spent with friends sharing the warmth of a good fire and a great whisky. This year we have selected two Australian Tawny Casks that together create a rich, complex, and warming whisky to share with you. This whisky has all the hallmarks of classic Australian Tawny Cask Whisky while also demonstrating some additional jammy and charred oak characteristics that provide an additional level of complexity. Enjoy.
ABV: 52%
Cask Type(s): Australian Tawny
Age: 5.4yo
Aroma: Classic Australian Tawny aroma with ANZAC biscuits, brown sugar, cinnamon, dates, sultanas, and dried orange peel. There is also some additional complexity with blackberry jam, charred oak, and dried fig.
Taste: A beautiful buttery mouthfeel with charred oak up front giving way to more complex dried fruits, rum and raisin chocolate, and milky coffee.
Finish: A nice warming finish with an abundance of dried fruits soaked in brandy, campfire char, and rich oak.
