Tasting note
Crème de cassis is the blackcurrant liqueur behind the Kir, and this bottle comes from a house that has made it a speciality. Vedrenne was founded in Nuits-Saint-Georges in 1923, close to Burgundy's blackcurrant fields, and crème de cassis is still its iconic product. The fruit includes Noir de Bourgogne, the blackcurrant variety the region is known for.
Look and aroma. A dense, glossy, true blackcurrant colour, and an intense fruity nose.
Palate. Concentrated and aromatic, strong yet refined, with fruit that lingers well after the sip.
Using it. Add a splash to dry white wine for a Kir, or top it with sparkling wine for a Kir Royale. Vedrenne also suggests a cassis spritz: cassis, crémant and tonic over plenty of ice. New Zealand orders travel by tracked international post. The cost is calculated at checkout. The free delivery threshold offered in Australia does not apply to New Zealand orders.
Prices are shown in New Zealand dollars. Orders may attract New Zealand customs duty, GST and clearance fees on arrival. Those costs are set by New Zealand Customs, are payable by the recipient, and are not collected by Liquor Wine Cave.
Once your order is confirmed you will receive a shipping notification with a tracking reference. Larger or mixed orders sometimes travel as more than one parcel, and you will get tracking for each.
Alcohol can only be delivered to a person aged 18 or over. The courier may ask for photo ID and will not leave your order unattended. We do not offer authority to leave on alcohol orders.
