Tasting note
HMS Monarch is a blend of rums aged between 6 and 9 years in American white oak ex-bourbon and Port casks. It belongs to Admiral Rodney, the flagship range of St Lucia Distillers for age and complexity, made entirely from continuous still rum.
Tasting. Deep mahogany. Sultanas and vanilla on the nose, with a touch of red and black fruit. Sweet on the palate, with rich brown sugar, praline and candied fruit, while toasty oak and tropical spice keep the lingering sweetness in check.
The distillate comes from the bottom plates of the distillery's 45 plate Coffey still, commissioned in 1984, which gives spirit with the balance to handle a long maturation.
The range honours Admiral George Rodney, who famously broke the line and defeated the French fleet in 1782, at the Battle of the Saints. HMS Monarch was a 74 gun Royal Navy ship that sailed in the vanguard at the Saints and later fought at the Battle of Copenhagen, where on 30 March 1801 she led the fleet through the Sound under fire from Kronborg Castle.

Most orders to New Zealand leave within 2 to 7 business days depending on the item. If anything is delayed we will tell you.
New Zealand orders travel by tracked international post. The cost is calculated at checkout. The free delivery threshold offered in Australia does not apply to New Zealand orders.
Prices are shown in New Zealand dollars. Orders may attract New Zealand customs duty, GST and clearance fees on arrival. Those costs are set by New Zealand Customs, are payable by the recipient, and are not collected by Liquor Wine Cave.
Once your order is confirmed you will receive a shipping notification with a tracking reference. Larger or mixed orders sometimes travel as more than one parcel, and you will get tracking for each.
Alcohol can only be delivered to a person aged 18 or over. The courier may ask for photo ID and will not leave your order unattended. We do not offer authority to leave on alcohol orders.
We do not deliver to PO boxes or parcel lockers.
