Tasting note
An infused rum built to taste like the dessert it is named after: bananas caramelised in a pan with sugar. The nose is bright and sweet, closer to banana confectionery than to fresh fruit, and the palate is round and soft with green banana, powdered sugar and tropical fruit behind it.
Infusing a finished rum with fruit is standard practice in the Indian Ocean islands, and this is a clean example of it: one flavour done properly rather than a spice cupboard thrown at the bottle.
Serve it very cold. Straight from the freezer into a small glass is what the producer suggests and it is right, because the chill tightens the sweetness. Over vanilla ice cream it works as a sauce. In a tiki style build it stands in for both the rum and the sweetener, so a simple version is sixty millilitres of this with thirty of lime juice and a dash of aromatic bitters over crushed ice.

Prices are shown in New Zealand dollars. Orders may attract New Zealand customs duty, GST and clearance fees on arrival. Those costs are set by New Zealand Customs, are payable by the recipient, and are not collected by Liquor Wine Cave.
Once your order is confirmed you will receive a shipping notification with a tracking reference. Larger or mixed orders sometimes travel as more than one parcel, and you will get tracking for each.
Alcohol can only be delivered to a person aged 18 or over. The courier may ask for photo ID and will not leave your order unattended. We do not offer authority to leave on alcohol orders.
We do not deliver to PO boxes or parcel lockers.
