Tasting note
This Compagnie des Indes bottling is rum from Fiji, drawn from the island's single distillery, which makes its rum in pot stills.
Nose. Elderflower comes first, then red fruit, cherry and raspberry above all, with an unusual thread of hay and frangipane.
Palate. Smooth and oily, lifted by a little acidity. The red fruit returns as redcurrant and blackcurrant, and the hay turns smoky and peppery.
Finish. Long and balanced, woody and spiced, carrying some of the Indian food flavours found in earlier Fiji releases from the same bottler.
Fiji grows a great deal of sugar cane and so has plenty of molasses. A large part is shipped abroad, but a share goes to that one distillery, and rums from there are known for a strong, spiced nose. More from this bottler is in our Compagnie des Indes collection.

Most orders to New Zealand leave within 2 to 7 business days depending on the item. If anything is delayed we will tell you.
New Zealand orders travel by tracked international post. The cost is calculated at checkout. The free delivery threshold offered in Australia does not apply to New Zealand orders.
Prices are shown in New Zealand dollars. Orders may attract New Zealand customs duty, GST and clearance fees on arrival. Those costs are set by New Zealand Customs, are payable by the recipient, and are not collected by Liquor Wine Cave.
Once your order is confirmed you will receive a shipping notification with a tracking reference. Larger or mixed orders sometimes travel as more than one parcel, and you will get tracking for each.
Alcohol can only be delivered to a person aged 18 or over. The courier may ask for photo ID and will not leave your order unattended. We do not offer authority to leave on alcohol orders.
We do not deliver to PO boxes or parcel lockers.
