Tasting note
Absente is the absinthe that started the Distilleries et Domaines de Provence range, and it brought handcrafted absinthe boldly back. It blends distilled absinthe (wormwood) with green anise, mint and spices, and is bottled at 55% in a 700ml bottle.
Colour. Clear and brilliant light green with yellow highlights.
Nose. Wormwood and aniseed, with mint and lemon balm.
Palate. Wormwood leads, then aniseed and a fresh, spicy mint finish.
How to drink absinthe. The traditional way is the ritual: rest a sugar cube on an absinthe spoon over the glass and slowly pour cold water over it until the green turns cloudy. The distillery also suggests it simply over ice, or diluted with three parts cold water. In cocktails it appears in an Absente Mojito, a Green Beast or a Sazerac, and ginger, lime, mint and rosemary are its natural partners. Browse more bottles in our absinthe collection.

New Zealand orders travel by tracked international post. The cost is calculated at checkout. The free delivery threshold offered in Australia does not apply to New Zealand orders.
Prices are shown in New Zealand dollars. Orders may attract New Zealand customs duty, GST and clearance fees on arrival. Those costs are set by New Zealand Customs, are payable by the recipient, and are not collected by Liquor Wine Cave.
Once your order is confirmed you will receive a shipping notification with a tracking reference. Larger or mixed orders sometimes travel as more than one parcel, and you will get tracking for each.
Alcohol can only be delivered to a person aged 18 or over. The courier may ask for photo ID and will not leave your order unattended. We do not offer authority to leave on alcohol orders.
