Tasting note
L'Or is the golden cuvée of Père Labat, the oldest distillery still working on Marie-Galante in Guadeloupe, named after Père Jean-Baptiste Labat, a 17th century missionary. It is rhum agricole: hand-cut cane is pressed for its pure juice, fermented slowly and distilled in a copper Creole column still. The rum then spends 18 to 24 months in foudres, large wooden casks, which gives it golden glints and rounds it out without hiding the fresh cane.
Nose. Vanilla, lemon and passionfruit in good balance, with soft woody notes.
Palate. Passionfruit, lemon and cinnamon, with sugar cane and pepper. Round and enveloping, with an elegant woody finish.
Serving. The distillery suggests it simply, in a good aged rum glass. Bottled at 45% in a 70cl bottle. See more in our dark rum collection.

Most orders to New Zealand leave within 2 to 7 business days depending on the item. If anything is delayed we will tell you.
New Zealand orders travel by tracked international post. The cost is calculated at checkout. The free delivery threshold offered in Australia does not apply to New Zealand orders.
Prices are shown in New Zealand dollars. Orders may attract New Zealand customs duty, GST and clearance fees on arrival. Those costs are set by New Zealand Customs, are payable by the recipient, and are not collected by Liquor Wine Cave.
Once your order is confirmed you will receive a shipping notification with a tracking reference. Larger or mixed orders sometimes travel as more than one parcel, and you will get tracking for each.
Alcohol can only be delivered to a person aged 18 or over. The courier may ask for photo ID and will not leave your order unattended. We do not offer authority to leave on alcohol orders.
We do not deliver to PO boxes or parcel lockers.
