Tasting note

This one-litre porcelain ship's decanter from Pusser's celebrates yacht racing, a sport with roots in the 1600s: many consider the first recorded yacht race to be the one sailed out of Greenwich under King Charles II on 6 September 1662. Around the base runs original artwork commissioned by Pusser's from the New Zealand marine artist Antony Blake, showing most of the rigs sailed today, including the popular one-design classes. The large, hand-cast ceramic stopper carries the Pusser's Navy Rum life ring logo in its countersunk centre, framed by gold trim and the flag signal for "Splice the Main Brace!", which is repeated in script. The Killick's Fouled Anchor, the official anchor of the Royal Navy, appears in gold on the neck. Pusser's takes its name from the ship's purser, who issued the Royal Navy's daily rum ration until it ended on 31 July 1970, and the brand has carried that tradition from the British Virgin Islands since 1979.
