Tasting note
This spiced rum from Compagnie des Indes, the French independent bottler founded by Florent Beuchet in 2015, is built as a proper rum first. The base blends roughly 80% rum from the Dominican Republic with 20% from Venezuela, which then macerates for about two weeks with real spices and botanicals, black pepper, ginger, liquorice, vanilla and nutmeg among them. Nothing is added for colour: the light gold in the glass comes from that maceration.
Nose. A pull between sweetness, from nutmeg, vanilla and a little cinnamon, and heat, from ginger, pepper and a touch of citrus. Heady and full of character.
Palate. Balanced sweetness first, then citrus and warm spice such as ras el hanout and clove, building to woody, warming liquorice, tonka bean and vanilla, with herbal hints of thyme and coriander.
Finish. A gentle play of sweet and salty.

Most orders to New Zealand leave within 2 to 7 business days depending on the item. If anything is delayed we will tell you.
New Zealand orders travel by tracked international post. The cost is calculated at checkout. The free delivery threshold offered in Australia does not apply to New Zealand orders.
Prices are shown in New Zealand dollars. Orders may attract New Zealand customs duty, GST and clearance fees on arrival. Those costs are set by New Zealand Customs, are payable by the recipient, and are not collected by Liquor Wine Cave.
Once your order is confirmed you will receive a shipping notification with a tracking reference. Larger or mixed orders sometimes travel as more than one parcel, and you will get tracking for each.
Alcohol can only be delivered to a person aged 18 or over. The courier may ask for photo ID and will not leave your order unattended. We do not offer authority to leave on alcohol orders.
We do not deliver to PO boxes or parcel lockers.
