Tasting note
Ratafia de Champagne is grape juice from the Champagne presses, preserved by adding spirit. This one comes from Champagne J. Dumangin Fils, where fifth-generation grower Gilles Dumangin made his first ratafia in 2002 with one idea in mind: let the fruit shine. To do that he fortifies with a rectified, very high strength Fine Champenoise, and ages the ratafia in second-hand barrels for a light tannic grip.
A blend of ageing styles. This bottling, aged for three years or more, brings together ratafias matured in a solera, in the vin santo style, and in vat. That mix gives generous fruit and a refined note of wood.
With food. It is a flexible bottle: serve it with cheese or melon, alongside chocolate desserts, or reduce it into a sauce for duck. Similar grape and spirit blends sit in our mistelles collection.

Normandy is too far north for wine grapes, so it distils apples instead.

New Zealand orders travel by tracked international post. The cost is calculated at checkout. The free delivery threshold offered in Australia does not apply to New Zealand orders.
Prices are shown in New Zealand dollars. Orders may attract New Zealand customs duty, GST and clearance fees on arrival. Those costs are set by New Zealand Customs, are payable by the recipient, and are not collected by Liquor Wine Cave.
Once your order is confirmed you will receive a shipping notification with a tracking reference. Larger or mixed orders sometimes travel as more than one parcel, and you will get tracking for each.
Alcohol can only be delivered to a person aged 18 or over. The courier may ask for photo ID and will not leave your order unattended. We do not offer authority to leave on alcohol orders.
