Tasting note
Restanques is one of the pastis made by Jean Boyer, a house at Saint-Geours-de-Maremne whose name, it says itself, is often linked with pastis. The recipe follows the old custom of Provençal farms: 40 aromatic plants and spices married with liquorice. After a slow maceration and a careful blend, pure anise essence goes in last. It is bottled at 45%.
The plants. They come from the Domaine des Restanques in Provence. Some are grown there, such as sage, wormwood, lemon verbena, rosemary, angelica, lemon balm, coriander and several mints; others, including gentian, savory and thyme, are gathered wild. The pastis is bottled unfiltered and uncoloured, so its tint comes from the plants alone.
In the glass. It carries very little sugar, and Jean Boyer calls it delicate, fresh and smooth, with subtle, mellow aromas of real intensity. Farmhouse pastis of this kind was traditionally drunk well lengthened with water. More bottles sit in our pastis collection.

Prices are shown in New Zealand dollars. Orders may attract New Zealand customs duty, GST and clearance fees on arrival. Those costs are set by New Zealand Customs, are payable by the recipient, and are not collected by Liquor Wine Cave.
Once your order is confirmed you will receive a shipping notification with a tracking reference. Larger or mixed orders sometimes travel as more than one parcel, and you will get tracking for each.
Alcohol can only be delivered to a person aged 18 or over. The courier may ask for photo ID and will not leave your order unattended. We do not offer authority to leave on alcohol orders.
