Tasting note
On Marie-Galante, in Guadeloupe, 59% is the strength locals reach for, and Père Labat calls this white its emblematic bottling. The distillery, the oldest still working on the island, takes its name from Father Jean-Baptiste Labat, the seventeenth century missionary it credits with the origins of agricole rum. Cane is cut by hand, fermented slowly and distilled in a copper Creole column.
This rum is made from fresh cane juice, from four varieties of cane native to Marie-Galante. Before bottling it rests for 10 to 15 days in open wooden foudres while it is diluted with water to bottling strength.
Tasting. Powerful, fresh and balanced, with the fruity sweetness of just-pressed cane juice. Green, cane and spice on the nose; fresh cane, spice and citrus on the palate.

New Zealand orders travel by tracked international post. The cost is calculated at checkout. The free delivery threshold offered in Australia does not apply to New Zealand orders.
Prices are shown in New Zealand dollars. Orders may attract New Zealand customs duty, GST and clearance fees on arrival. Those costs are set by New Zealand Customs, are payable by the recipient, and are not collected by Liquor Wine Cave.
Once your order is confirmed you will receive a shipping notification with a tracking reference. Larger or mixed orders sometimes travel as more than one parcel, and you will get tracking for each.
Alcohol can only be delivered to a person aged 18 or over. The courier may ask for photo ID and will not leave your order unattended. We do not offer authority to leave on alcohol orders.
We do not deliver to PO boxes or parcel lockers.
