Tasting note

The second Lighthouse Edition from Mac-Talla, the Islay single malt of the Morrison family, and the first to be chosen collaboratively: the family invited a group of its international retail partners to help select the final liquid. Islay single malt from first fill bourbon casks, first fill Oloroso and PX sherry casks and a first fill Bordeaux barrique was married together, then finished in virgin American oak for extra vanilla sweetness and spice. The nose shows treacle toffee, milk chocolate, dried fruit and spice. The palate brings chewy caramels dipped in chocolate, balanced by soft peat smoke and gentle wood spice, with toasted coconut on a long, warming finish. Bottled at 54.7% with natural colour and no chill filtration. Try it neat first, then with a splash of still water.
