Tasting note

Mac-Talla is the Islay single malt of the Morrison family, one of Scotland's best known whisky families and former owners of Bowmore. The name means echo in Scottish Gaelic, a nod to the family's long connection with the island. This 2026 Limited Edition returns to full Pedro Ximenez maturation, combining first fill PX sherry butts, which bring dense sweetness and colour, with refill PX hogsheads that keep the sherry in balance with the island smoke. Expect sticky dates, raisins and gentle peat on the nose, then dark dried fruit, treacle toffee, coastal brine and spice, with a long, rich finish of dark fruit and soft smoke. Bottled at 52.8% with natural colour and no chill filtration. A few drops of water open it up nicely.
