Tasting note
Prunes kept in armagnac are an old farmhouse recipe, first made as a way to hold on to the surplus of the harvest. Distillerie La Salamandre in Sarlat still prepares them the artisanal way, starting with Ente plums that have been only lightly dried.
The jar holds just three ingredients: the prunes, armagnac and a sugar syrup. The armagnac lifts the fruit, the sweetness stays gentle, and the natural plum flavour comes through.
How to enjoy them. Pick a prune straight from the jar with your fingers after dinner, or slip them into your cooking, in sweet and savoury dishes alike. The distillery adds no preservatives, so store the jar away from light and heat, and keep it somewhere cool once opened. This is the one litre jar. Delivery information
Most orders to New Zealand leave within 2 to 7 business days depending on the item. If anything is delayed we will tell you.
New Zealand orders travel by tracked international post. The cost is calculated at checkout. The free delivery threshold offered in Australia does not apply to New Zealand orders.
Prices are shown in New Zealand dollars. Orders may attract New Zealand customs duty, GST and clearance fees on arrival. Those costs are set by New Zealand Customs, are payable by the recipient, and are not collected by Liquor Wine Cave.
Once your order is confirmed you will receive a shipping notification with a tracking reference. Larger or mixed orders sometimes travel as more than one parcel, and you will get tracking for each.
Alcohol can only be delivered to a person aged 18 or over. The courier may ask for photo ID and will not leave your order unattended. We do not offer authority to leave on alcohol orders.
We do not deliver to PO boxes or parcel lockers.
