Tasting note
Säntis Malt is the whisky of Brauerei Locher, a family brewery in Appenzell, Switzerland, which has distilled it since 1999. The idea started with the brewery's old oak beer casks, and Edition Himmelberg belongs to the Säntis Malt Classics, the line matured in those former beer casks. It is a single malt bottled at 43%, and the distillery notes how it changes in the glass: light and fruity at first, then spicy and woody on the palate.
Appearance. Light copper with rose-coloured glints.
Nose. Wine-like and sweet, with ripe pear and pear skin, a touch of vanilla and cinnamon, faint beery and toasty notes and a little green wood.
Palate. The vinous sweetness and pear return, then the spice builds: pepper and candied ginger, deeper roasted notes drying out towards espresso bean, toasted almond and dark cocoa powder, plus blueberry and sloe over some wood.
Finish. Dry spice and oak, mostly ripe sloe, with a warm, tingling spot on the middle of the tongue that lingers for minutes before fading into florals.

Prices are shown in New Zealand dollars. Orders may attract New Zealand customs duty, GST and clearance fees on arrival. Those costs are set by New Zealand Customs, are payable by the recipient, and are not collected by Liquor Wine Cave.
Once your order is confirmed you will receive a shipping notification with a tracking reference. Larger or mixed orders sometimes travel as more than one parcel, and you will get tracking for each.
Alcohol can only be delivered to a person aged 18 or over. The courier may ask for photo ID and will not leave your order unattended. We do not offer authority to leave on alcohol orders.
We do not deliver to PO boxes or parcel lockers.
