Tasting note
Quina Ambré belongs to St Raphaël's Quinas, a pair of recipes the French house added to its range in 2018. Both are inspired by original formulas and look back to the 1950s, as a tribute to the sweet richness typical of St Raphaël.
How it is made. Like all St Raphaël, it is built on a mistelle: grape juice fortified with alcohol so that fermentation stops and the grape keeps its natural sugar. Quinquina, bitter orange peel, vanilla and cocoa are then macerated in it slowly until their aromas are fully absorbed. The quinquina adds a light bitterness that balances the roundness of the wine.
Tasting. Cocoa, vanilla and caramel show immediately on the nose and return on a very smooth attack. The tannins are subtle, set off by orange peel, and a long finish leaves a velvety feel.
Serving. St Raphaël says its aperitifs can be enjoyed chilled and neat, and they are just as useful as a cocktail ingredient. More bottles for before dinner are in our aperitifs collection.

Alcohol can only be delivered to a person aged 18 or over. The courier may ask for photo ID and will not leave your order unattended. We do not offer authority to leave on alcohol orders.
