Tasting note

The 10 Years Old Peat Smoked takes The Glenturret's peated style further. It is made from peated spirit and matured in American and European oak casks, giving generous layers of smoke balanced by rich dried fruit, and a fuller, more developed character than the 7 Years Old. Smouldering peat, sweet vanilla and dried fruit such as dates and figs lead the way, with soft smoke and warming oak building as it sits in the glass. The smoke stays balanced rather than overwhelming, and wisps of oak lead into a long, warm finish where wood and peat both linger. In November 2024 the distillery announced it would stop using peat from 2025, which makes the Peat Smoked bottlings among the last of the style in its core range. Bottled at 48.4% at The Glenturret, near Crieff in Perthshire.
