Tasting note

The 12 Years Old sits at the heart of The Glenturret's core range and is its signature sherry expression. It is matured predominantly in European oak sherry-seasoned casks, including Oloroso and Pedro Ximenez, with a measure of American oak for balance. Caramelised citrus leads into vanilla and cinnamon, followed by dried orchard fruit and soft wood spice. Ginger and nutmeg add warmth, and toasted oak carries through to a warm, lingering finish. At 46.2% it offers more depth and richness than the younger bottlings while staying approachable. The distillery sits at The Hosh near Crieff in Perthshire and dates its story to 1763, which it says makes it Scotland's oldest working distillery. Enjoy it neat or with a drop of water.
