Tasting note
La Blanche is Christian Drouin's clear cider brandy, and it looks back to an older way of drinking. When the Calvados Pays d'Auge appellation was created in 1942, its rules set no minimum ageing, and most of what was drunk then was uncoloured. It was known as La Blanche. Step by step, the rules came to require at least two years in oak, and Drouin has now given the old style a fresh start with this bottling.
It is double distilled in copper stills from more than thirty varieties of cider apple.
Tasting. Crystal clear and silvery. A brief varnish note opens into stewed apple and apple tart, growing more cidery as it breathes. On the palate it is pure and juicy, with apple and pear carried by warming alcohol and crisp acidity, and the finish is dry, fine and long. More from the house is in our Christian Drouin collection.

Normandy is too far north for wine grapes, so it distils apples instead.

Most orders to New Zealand leave within 2 to 7 business days depending on the item. If anything is delayed we will tell you.
New Zealand orders travel by tracked international post. The cost is calculated at checkout. The free delivery threshold offered in Australia does not apply to New Zealand orders.
Prices are shown in New Zealand dollars. Orders may attract New Zealand customs duty, GST and clearance fees on arrival. Those costs are set by New Zealand Customs, are payable by the recipient, and are not collected by Liquor Wine Cave.
Once your order is confirmed you will receive a shipping notification with a tracking reference. Larger or mixed orders sometimes travel as more than one parcel, and you will get tracking for each.
Alcohol can only be delivered to a person aged 18 or over. The courier may ask for photo ID and will not leave your order unattended. We do not offer authority to leave on alcohol orders.
We do not deliver to PO boxes or parcel lockers.
