Tasting note
Gabriel Boudier of Dijon makes its Sloe Gin by macerating whole sloe berries for five weeks in gin the house distils itself, so the flavour and colour of the fruit's flesh and stone pass into the spirit. A carefully judged dose of sugar then turns it into the traditional liqueur, whose origins lie in British home recipes. It is bottled at 29%.
This sloe gin pays tribute to Philip the Good, Duke of Burgundy, who embodied the alliance between Burgundy and England. Boudier's gin credentials go back to the end of the Second World War, when it became one of the few French gin specialists after winning the contract to supply gin to the American army in Europe.
Tasting. A plum-coloured robe, which the house also describes as a brilliant grenadine. Sloes and candied plum on the nose, moving towards almond. The palate is round, rich and flavoursome, finishing on fresh, ripe fruit.

New Zealand orders travel by tracked international post. The cost is calculated at checkout. The free delivery threshold offered in Australia does not apply to New Zealand orders.
Prices are shown in New Zealand dollars. Orders may attract New Zealand customs duty, GST and clearance fees on arrival. Those costs are set by New Zealand Customs, are payable by the recipient, and are not collected by Liquor Wine Cave.
Once your order is confirmed you will receive a shipping notification with a tracking reference. Larger or mixed orders sometimes travel as more than one parcel, and you will get tracking for each.
Alcohol can only be delivered to a person aged 18 or over. The courier may ask for photo ID and will not leave your order unattended. We do not offer authority to leave on alcohol orders.
