Tasting note
Christian Drouin Gin comes from the Drouin family, makers of calvados in the Pays d'Auge for three generations. Rose and lemon bring finesse; ginger, vanilla, cinnamon and almond give a smooth, spiced body; cardamom rounds out the fruit. Juniper and apple balance each other, rich against bright.
Nose. Apple first, a nod to Normandy, moving to liquorice, herbal juniper and pepper.
Palate. Lively, opening floral with apple blossom and fruity with raspberry and blackcurrant, then fresh cut apple, apple tart and quince paste at the back.
Guillaume Drouin designed it following the art of blending fine eaux de vie. Normandy ciders are distilled in small pot stills, while juniper and seven other botanicals typical of the calvados tradition are each distilled on their own, then blended in set proportions, in batches of 2,850 bottles. Delivery information
Most orders to New Zealand leave within 2 to 7 business days depending on the item. If anything is delayed we will tell you.
New Zealand orders travel by tracked international post. The cost is calculated at checkout. The free delivery threshold offered in Australia does not apply to New Zealand orders.
Prices are shown in New Zealand dollars. Orders may attract New Zealand customs duty, GST and clearance fees on arrival. Those costs are set by New Zealand Customs, are payable by the recipient, and are not collected by Liquor Wine Cave.
Once your order is confirmed you will receive a shipping notification with a tracking reference. Larger or mixed orders sometimes travel as more than one parcel, and you will get tracking for each.
Alcohol can only be delivered to a person aged 18 or over. The courier may ask for photo ID and will not leave your order unattended. We do not offer authority to leave on alcohol orders.
We do not deliver to PO boxes or parcel lockers.
