Tasting note

A single cask of peated Glenturret, distilled on 26 January 2011 and bottled on 23 February 2026 at 15 years old. After maturation it was finished in a sherry cask and bottled at natural cask strength of 53.2%, without chill filtration or added colouring. This is a chance to taste Glenturret's peated spirit, a style the distillery has now stopped making, which gives this cask a sense of farewell. The sherry finish adds depth, with dried fruit, spice and a rounded sweetness, while soft, barbecue-like peat smoke is woven through rather than dominating. Finn Thomson describes a certain symmetry in Scotland's oldest whisky family selecting a cask from Scotland's oldest working distillery, and the cask marks his own link to the distillery's modern revival. It sits in his Core Collection of hand-selected single casks.
