Tasting note

Distilled at Invergordon on 28 November 1974 and bottled in September 2024, this single grain spent half a century in a single cask before Finn Thomson judged it ready. It is bottled at natural cask strength of 46.1%, without chill filtration or added colouring. Invergordon, on the Cromarty Firth, is Scotland's northernmost grain distillery and was established in 1960. Most of its spirit goes into blends at a young age, so a 50-year-old single cask is a genuine rarity. Five decades in oak have given ripe peach and nectarine, delicate vanilla cream and a velvety texture, with hints of almond, coconut and a whisper of oak. It belongs to the Crown Collection, the range Finn Thomson reserves for the family's oldest and most treasured casks.
