Tasting note
Fernando de Castilla Antique Palo Cortado is a rare dry sherry from the bodega in the Barrio de Santiago at Jerez de la Frontera.
Palo Cortado is the accident of the sherry cellar: a wine that starts out heading for Amontillado, loses its flor early and finishes oxidatively, ending up with the fine aromatics of one style and the body of an Oloroso. The Antique bottling is more than thirty years old, which is exceptional even in Jerez, and it is bottled in the small volumes and with the minimal handling that Jan Pettersen has applied since taking the house on in 1999.
Serve lightly chilled in a proper glass and give it time. Hard cheese, jamon and game are the classic matches.

New Zealand orders travel by tracked international post. The cost is calculated at checkout. The free delivery threshold offered in Australia does not apply to New Zealand orders.
Prices are shown in New Zealand dollars. Orders may attract New Zealand customs duty, GST and clearance fees on arrival. Those costs are set by New Zealand Customs, are payable by the recipient, and are not collected by Liquor Wine Cave.
Once your order is confirmed you will receive a shipping notification with a tracking reference. Larger or mixed orders sometimes travel as more than one parcel, and you will get tracking for each.
Alcohol can only be delivered to a person aged 18 or over. The courier may ask for photo ID and will not leave your order unattended. We do not offer authority to leave on alcohol orders.
We do not deliver to PO boxes or parcel lockers.
